The safari takes you directly to Masai Mara, one of Kenya ‘s most visited parks due to it’s abundance in wildlife. You will experience nature at its best especially during the annual migration of wildebeests. This will make your tour to Kenya a really memorable one. Do not forget that the journey takes you through the Great Rift Valley which is famous for its scenic views most notably the escarpment and the numerous lakes which are renowned for their extensive bird species.
DAY 1:NAIROBI – LAKE BARINGO
Depart Nairobi and later descend to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, for Lake Baringo arriving in time for lunch. Lake Baringo is a fresh water lake which supports a great variety of birds as well as hippos and crocodiles. (An evening boat ride is optional at an extra cost). Indeed the lake is reputed to be the bird-watching center of Kenya. Overnight at Mrs. Robert’s Campsite.
DAY 2:LAKE BARINGO – LAKE BOGORIA
Early in the morning, head south via Lake Bogoria, which is a shallow soda lake with a beautiful scenery and also home to a sizable number of flamingos and other species of birds. The highlight however, is the boiling hot springs and geysers, which also contributes to the beauty of the lake. After lunch, visit a Pokot or Jemps traditional village and later proceed to Nakuru for dinner and overnight in a guesthouse or hostel located outside the park.
DAY 3:LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park after breakfast, another shallow soda lake that is described as an ornithologist’s paradise and one of the world’s most magnificent sights. Here one has an opportunity to see millions of flamingos besides tens of thousands of others birds. Lake Nakuru National Park is a rhino sanctuary and also harbors lion, warthog, waterbuck, buffalo, hippo and many other animals, Lunch at a hotel in the park with dinner and overnight in a guesthouse or hostel located outside the park.
DAY 4:NAKURU – MASAI MARA
Head further south to Narok, camping in a semi-permanent camp located near the gate at the edge of the Masai Mara National Park. Walk-in tent with beds and mattresses, hot and cold showers are available at this basic campsite and meals are served in the dinning mess. Proceed on a game drive early in the evening.
DAY 5:MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK
Equipped with picnic lunch, from the base camp, explore the Mara region which is packed with the elephant, zebra, rhino and all kinds of game throughout the year, with the spectacular wildebeest migration occurring mainly in July and August. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
DAY 6:MASAI MARA – NAIROBI
Take an early morning game drive and return to the campsite for breakfast. Thereafter, proceed to Narok where Masai souvenirs can be
bought. Continue to Nairobi with picnic lunch taken en-route, and arrive in the early evening.
